The United States Army is the oldest service of the United States of America. It was started by the Second Continental Congress in 1775 and placed under General George Washington. At the time they were all separated Militia groups from all the colonies. By the end of the war most were a cohesive unit of men. One of the first groups named inside of the Army were "Rogers Rangers" These men were frontiersmen, good at tracking, they knew terrain, some had seen fighting in The French and Indian War and they were made Officers.
